Dawnita Diaz, LMSW, CAADC
Dawnita graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 1997. She graduated in 2001 with a Master of Arts in Social Work from Western Michigan University. She is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) and a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAADC). She has more than 20 years of experience as a social worker and has worked in child protection, mental health, trauma, substance use, and licensing.
When a person chooses to participate in counseling, Dawnita views this as a brave step in investing in yourself in a positive way. She is honored to partner with each person in their journey of healing, self-acceptance, understanding, and growth. She works collaboratively to identify what is important to her clients and the steps to take to pursue identified treatment goals using a holistic approach. Dawnita believes it is important to care for the whole self: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. She works hard to provide a safe, judgement free space to allow each person the room they need to work on the issues they find important and necessary to them. It is important that each person feels they are heard and understood.
Dawnita is available to discuss your specific concerns and needs when you are deciding on a therapist to work with. She will work to partner with you to address the needs and issues you have in a caring, considerate, and respectful manner.
