Erin Heavilin

Erin Heavilin is board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with ten years of experience working in the mental health field. Erin received her undergraduate nursing degree from Western Michigan University and her graduate degree from the University of Colorado. She was recognized by the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, for academic excellence upon completion of both programs.  She was also awarded the Western Michigan University Community Service Award for her volunteer work in the community.

As a nurse practitioner Erin recognizes that psychiatric illnesses are biological conditions induced by physiologic changes in the body, while applying core nursing principles to provide care that leads to recovery and contributes to overall quality of life and wellness. Erin focuses on using evidence-based treatment, while approaching care with an open mind and flexibility, as research has consistently shown that delivering care to the whole person based on a strong foundation of scientific knowledge leads to positive outcomes. Erin believes in partnering with individuals, families and communities, as well as working with a multidisciplinary team, to offer the most comprehensive, effective and meaningful care. Erin treats individuals and families, of all ages, and has experience treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions using both medication and non-medication treatment interventions.
